| For the Orange spread |
| 250g reduced-fat spreadable cream cheese |
| 1 orange, rind finely grated |
| 1/3 cup pure icing sugar |

| Method |
Preheat oven to 150°C. Grease a 7cm-deep, 10.5cm x 21cm (base) loaf pan. Line with baking paper, allowing a 2 CM overhang at both long ends.
Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, Ovaltine and sultanas in a bowl. Combine milk and golden syrup in a microwave-safe jug. Microwave, uncovered, on HIGH (100%) for 1 minute. Combine bicarbonate of soda and boiling water. Stir into milk mixture.
Pour warm milk mixture into dry ingredients. Stir gently to combine. Pour mixture into prepared loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes in pan. Lift onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Make orange spread: Combine cream cheese, orange rind and 1/4 cup icing sugar in a bowl. Mix until well combined. Dust with remaining icing sugar. Slice loaf and spread with orange spread. Serve. |
